The Jane Addams Peace Association was founded in 1948 "to foster a better understanding between the people of the world toward the end that wars may be avoided and a more lasting peace enjoyed." Since 1953 we have honored the outstanding children's books promoting peace and justice with the Jane Addams Children's Book Awards.
Linda Belle's tenure with the Jane Addams Peace Association will conclude on November 30, 2015, after thirteen years as Executive Director and six years as board member or President of the board. She has been our public image, the voice on the phone, the signature on the annuity checks, and the one who informed grant recipients that funds would be forthcoming for their peace education projects. We are grateful for Linda's dedication and service, and wish her all the best as she writes the next chapter in her life.
